Have you ever wondered about the magic of the Watchers? Is it madness of the mind or something more? More complex, more fantastical, just more than the average witch will ever experience?
It’s finally here!! The Ronan Scrolls (or TRS for short) by Katie Cross has been released today (Wednesday, December 18th, 2019)!! I must admit, this is one of my most anticipated releases of the year. I must also admit that this book has far exceeded my expectations – and they were already pretty high to begin with.
Full disclosure, I was gifted a copy of this book prior to today’s publication. However, this in no way influenced my opinion on this book. Heck, I was going to pick up a copy of this book on launch day before Katie so graciously gifted me a copy of the book to review it – I’ve yet to read a Katie Cross book I haven’t loved.
Written in a world I’d like to think I’ve become familiar with throughout my devouring of the Network and The Dragonmaster Trilogy series, The Ronan Scrolls gives further insight into a world constantly changing. Travelling through different towns and places we’ve yet to visit, in TRS widens up an already huge world.
In TRS, we get to follow along with Ronan throughout his quest to discover the truth about his brother’s murder. As a scholar, Ronan is not prepared for the world outside of his books. However, with the help of others he meets along the ways, Ronan slowly starts to piece together the truth about what his brother was going through. A truth that shakes the very foundation of the knowledge Ronan based his whole life around.
If you’re looking for a fast paced read and an adventure you’re going to have a hard time putting down, TRS is a great book for you to pick up. It’s got everything I love from a Katie Cross novel – amazing characters, a thrilling plot, intrigue – and so much more.
Reviews not yet posted for the Network and The Dragonmaster Trilogy will go up in the next couple of days, I just didn’t want to bombard this month with daily Katie Cross reviews. (Though I personally don’t see a problem with it, I’ve been told people like variety.)
If you’re looking for a more detailed look into this amazing book, and my thoughts on it, check back in next Wednesday when I plan to post my detailed review. Hopefully, you’ve have had a chance to pick it up by them! I’d hate to spoil anything for the readers that haven’t yet gotten a chance to pick this book up. (Have I mentioned yet that I loved it?)
For those readers who haven’t grabbed a copy of The Ronan Scrolls yet, I have but one question: What’s keeping you?
